BJP’s MLA representative of Mira-Bhayander, Narendra Mehta has announced his resignation from all the roles and responsibilities of BJP. In his video message, he said that he will not participate in any kind of politics from now on. It means that Narendra Mehta has decided to quit politics.
Narendra Mehta addressed his followers and supports on social media by saying “With effect from now I am Resigning from all the roles and responsibilities from BJP. I Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your support and cooperation till here. I apologize to senior leaders of BJP, Party workers and all fellow members of other parties (Congress, Shivsena, NCP, etc ) of Maharashtra, Mira Bhayander.”

In the video, Mehta said that he is taking this decision because BJP and other politicians had to suffer a lot due to his behavior and political decisions. He also assured that he won’t join any other political party after leaving BJP.
Narendra Mehta thanked all his supporters and followers for supporting him in his political journey and he also said sorry for all the mistakes he had done or if anyone got hurt by his actions or words.
In the 2014 Maharashtra Assembly elections, Narendra Mehta of BJP won the MLA seat by defeating the NCP candidate by a margin of 32292 votes which was 16.8% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP had a vote share of 47.57% in 2014 in the seat. This was his prime time when he defeated Gilbert Mendoca of NCP.
However, in 2019, Narendra Mehta lost his MLA seat to Geeta Jain. It was a major upset for him as Geeta Jain had fought the election independently after not getting ticket from BJP
Now, the time will tell how the politics of Mira-Bhayander will change after this decision of Narendra Mehta
